Seabass

Hand-carved stone sculpture.

The Seabass translates a familiar fluid natural form into solid stone playing with the contrast between movement and weight.

The work draws on the recognisable shape of the fish while allowing material and process to interrupt perfect realism.

Surface texture and tool marks remain visible, giving the piece a tactile quality that resists polish and precision. By carving an organic subject in stone the work holds a quiet tension between liveliness and permanence.

Carved entirely by hand, Seabass is conceived as a singular object rather than part of a series.
