Iron & Board 

The first irons were used in ancient China dating to around 1000 BC, and were made of cast iron for easy use. These early versions were heated over an open flame. Ironing boards came later, with the first patented design appearing in the mid-19th century. This innovation made the process of ironing more convenient and efficient, evolving into the modern ironing boards we today.
