Hand-carved stone sculpture.

The Roach Bed Table sits between furniture and sculpture combining a functional surface with references drawn directly from the material itself.

The work incorporates naturally occurring fossils including an integrated ammonite, which, allows geological history to remain visible and active within the finished form.

The stone is carved by hand around these natural features emphasising time, formation and material continuity. By preserving and working with fossil inclusions rather than removing them, the piece brings together use, ornament and deep time in a single object.

Carved entirely by hand, Roach Bed Table is conceived as a singular object rather than part of a series.
